Idylls of the King: Dedication-Merlin and Vivien

The poems were dedicated to Albert, Prince Consort. Tennyson’s description of nature is from his own surroundings. He collected them in many years.The Merlin and Vivien section in Tennyson’s Idylls of the King makes Vivien a seductress whatever that means. She makes Merlin give her his knowledge and power. Vivien is named as being a serpent when she tries to gain the spell necessary to have power over her boss.
